My husband and I had finally purchased our forever home and wanted to do a front-yard transformation. There are so many landscaping companies to choose from and trying to determine who would be ideal for the job, has the knowledge, experience and above all else honest was not an easy task!!! Fast forward and we did what most people resort to, we asked Google to start our search process. My husband came across Idea Scapes LLC and we proceeded with a consultation with owners Eric and Chelsea. Almost immediately we felt compelled to give them the opportunity to present us with an estimate. They listened closely to what we wanted and delivered a final result that exceeded our expectations. The crew always arrived on time every day, kept a clean job site, and wrapped up the project right on schedule. I think I was even more impressed that Eric was very hands on, working sometimes solo on our project. Our yard looks absolutely stunning, and we've already received tons of compliments from neighbors! We have since started other projects with Idea Scapes and would Highly recommend them for any major landscaping work."

Complete Landscape Renovation & Bluestone Walkway Transformation
The Oysters came to Idea Scapes through a referral from close friends whose landscape we had previously transformed. Their expansive Dunes West property had been landscaped several years earlier, but widespread plant loss, irrigation problems, unfinished areas, and a difficult experience getting support from the original contractor had left them hesitant to begin another major landscape project. Their goal was to revisit the original landscape plan, correct the problems that had developed, complete areas that had never been finished, and make several changes that better reflected how they wanted to use and experience the property. Just as important, they wanted a contractor who would communicate clearly, answer questions, and remain involved throughout the process. This approximately $125,000 landscape renovation ultimately grew into a comprehensive property-wide project. We installed new landscape areas and plantings, completed unfinished portions of the original plan, installed Empire Zoysia sod, added deer fencing, refreshed pine straw and mulch throughout the property, and rebuilt the irrigation approach supporting the landscape. The existing irrigation system required significant attention. New drip irrigation was installed throughout the planting areas, while the existing sprinkler system was renovated to improve coverage and better support the lawn and surrounding landscape. Coordinating irrigation with the planting plan was especially important because problems with the previous system had contributed to the loss of plant material. Hardscape improvements also became an important part of the project. We installed a new bluestone walkway connecting the landscape to the clients' private boat dock and re-oriented and rebuilt two existing bluestone walkways. The original walkways were adjusted to create better movement through the property and reconstructed on a more robust and level foundation. As the project progressed, the clients continued developing new ideas and requested several significant additions. Rather than treating those changes as disruptions, we worked through the options with them, adjusted the project thoughtfully, and continued refining the property as their vision developed. Communication and collaboration were central throughout the project. We walked the property with the clients repeatedly before, during, and after construction, answered questions as they arose, explained our recommendations, and remained available as decisions were made. Their interest in the details gave us the opportunity to share our reasoning behind plant selection, irrigation, materials, and construction methods rather than simply completing the work and moving on. The finished property brought the front and backyard together through coordinated planting, improved irrigation, restored lawn areas, bluestone walkways, and landscape improvements designed around the way the clients wanted to live. Just as important as the physical transformation was rebuilding their confidence in the process and giving them the level of communication, support, and attention they had been looking for. This project reflects the Idea Scapes approach to larger landscape renovations: understand what has already happened on the property, correct underlying problems where needed, coordinate the different systems involved, remain flexible as the project evolves, and keep the client involved from planning through completion.

Backyard Drainage, Retaining Wall & Paver Patio Transformation
The Schuffs came to Idea Scapes with a backyard that was difficult to use and affected by several interconnected problems. The lawn was struggling, drainage and erosion were ongoing concerns, and a steep backyard slope had been made more challenging by a retaining wall installed during a previous pool project. Their goal was to create an attractive, low-maintenance outdoor space where they could relax, entertain, and enjoy the backyard with family and friends. As we explored options for the area, the project developed into a larger transformation centered around a new paver patio and improvements to the surrounding property. This approximately $125,000 backyard project ultimately brought together reconstruction of the existing retaining wall, construction of an additional retaining wall, drainage improvements, grading and site corrections, paver hardscaping, custom steps, landscape lighting, decorative rock beds, lawn restoration, and other outdoor living improvements into one coordinated project. Beyond the immediate patio area, additional grading and sod installation were completed throughout the yard to improve drainage, restore disturbed areas, and create a more usable and cohesive finished landscape. Before constructing the new patio, we evaluated the existing retaining wall and identified important construction details that had been missed during the original installation. Building the new improvements over a wall with questionable long-term performance would have placed the new investment at risk. After reviewing our findings with the homeowners, the decision was made to rebuild the retaining wall properly before moving forward. As construction progressed, additional hidden site conditions were uncovered that required revisions to the original plan. Rather than ignoring or simply working around those conditions, we documented what we found, explained the available options, and received the homeowners' approval before proceeding with each change. The completed project addressed underlying drainage, grade, and structural concerns while creating a more functional and enjoyable backyard. The rebuilt retaining wall provides a stronger foundation for the improvements above it, while the additional wall and custom steps helped manage grade changes and improve movement through the space. The new paver patio created a comfortable gathering area, landscape lighting extended the use and appearance of the space into the evening, and decorative rock beds, drainage improvements, grading, and sod installation helped complete the surrounding landscape. This project reflects the way Idea Scapes approaches complex landscape and outdoor living work: understand the property first, address underlying problems before covering them up, coordinate the different systems involved, and keep the client informed as conditions evolve.
