A well-designed irrigation system should do more than turn water on and off. It should deliver appropriate coverage to different areas of the landscape, account for varying plant and turf needs, and work efficiently with the way the property is designed and used.
Idea Scapes installs new irrigation systems and completes substantial renovations to existing systems throughout the Charleston area. Depending on the property and project scope, this may include new zones, controllers, valves, spray or rotor coverage, drip irrigation, system layout changes, equipment replacement, and modifications required to support a new or renovated landscape.
Irrigation planning is closely connected to landscape design. Turf, shrubs, trees, ornamental planting, and container or specialty areas may have very different watering requirements. We consider planting locations, sun exposure, coverage patterns, site conditions, available water supply, future growth, and how the system can be divided into practical watering zones.
Existing irrigation systems can also become poorly suited to a property as landscapes change over time. Renovations may be appropriate when previous additions have created inadequate coverage, planting areas have been redesigned, components are aging, or a larger landscape project requires substantial changes to the existing system.
When irrigation is part of a landscape renovation or design-build project, we coordinate the system with planting, sod, drainage, hardscaping, lighting, and other construction. Planning these systems together reduces conflicts and allows irrigation components to be installed before finished landscape and hardscape areas make changes more difficult.
Our process begins with a free Discovery Call to learn about your property, the condition of any existing irrigation system, the improvements you are considering, your timeline, and the expected scope of work. Projects that appear to be a good fit may then move to an on-site consultation, planning when needed, and ultimately a detailed construction proposal.
Idea Scapes irrigation installation and renovation projects generally begin at $7,500. Our irrigation service is intended for new systems, substantial system renovations, and irrigation work associated with larger landscape projects rather than minor repairs or individual sprinkler-head replacements.
If you are planning a new irrigation system, renovating an existing system, or incorporating irrigation into a larger landscape project, start by telling us about your property and what you would like to accomplish. We will help determine the appropriate next step and whether Idea Scapes is the right fit for the project.
